Why do you require a Meet and Greet before I book my dog's first stay?

Before your dog's first boarding experience, we require a Meet and Greet, which is a free and informal stop by to tour the facility, meet us, and complete your dog's temperament evaluation. You may stay with your dog during the evaluation or leave your dog for a free 2 to 4 hour stay.

During this time we meet your dog and observe their interaction with other dogs to ensure they fit comfortably within our environment.

What are your hours for drop-off and pickup?

Monday – Friday: 6:30–9:00 am or 4:00–6:30 pm
Saturday: 6:30–9:00 am drop-off, 4:00–6:00 pm pickup (or Monday morning if staying)

How much does daycare or boarding cost?

Accepted Answer

Daycare: $45/day
Boarding: $45/night + $15 for daycare activities

What vaccinations are required?

Accepted Answer

Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella should be administered at least 7 days before arrival.

A typical dog temperament evaluation for kennel admission assesses reactivity to stimuli, social skills with people and other dogs, and overall behavior in a group setting. The process involves staff observing the dog's interactions with other dogs, reactions to noises and distractions, responses to handling and petting, and body language to determine if they can be safely integrated into the facility. The primary goal is to ensure safety and appropriate care for both the dog and other animals at the kennel.

Do you allow drop-off on holidays or Sundays?

No. We are closed for check-in and pickup on major holidays and Sundays.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Hartville Dog Haven, we understand that plans can change. Our policies help us reserve space and staffing for each dog while remaining fair and flexible for our pet parents.

Daycare Cancellations

• Daycare reservations should be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance.
 • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are highly discouraged
 • Missed pre-paid daycare reservations and no-shows are non-refundable. Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans change.

Boarding Cancellations

• Boarding reservations must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund or credit.
 • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged for the first night of the stay.
 • Early pick-ups do not qualify for refunds on unused nights.
Packages & Memberships

• Daycare packages are non-refundable once purchased. These do not expire.
 • Package credits may be used toward future daycare visits and do not expire unless otherwise stated.
 • Membership pricing and benefits are subject to change with notice.

Add-On Services

• Add-on services such as bathing or medication administration are charged only if provided.
 • If an add-on service is scheduled but not needed, no charge will be applied.
Illness or Emergency

• We understand emergencies happen. Please contact us as soon as possible if your dog becomes ill or an unexpected situation arises.
 • Refunds or credits due to emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis, at our discretion.

Vaccination & Eligibility

• If a reservation must be cancelled due to missing or expired vaccination records, the cancellation will be handled according to this policy.
Holiday Bookings

• Holiday reservations are non-refundable.
 • No drop-off or pick-up is available on holidays.

Payment

• Payment is due at check-in or at the time of booking, depending on the service.
 • We accept cash (preferred) and credit card payments

Question 9

If I have 2 dogs can they be in the same kennel and what is the price?

Accepted Answer

At your request we can try this, but if there is a problem we would separate them. The cost is the same $45.00 per dog, per night. Extended stays (more than 1 week a 10% discount is offered on the stay.)
